Haiti: General uprising!

Haiti PauPCSMS Magazine

Port-au-Prince—No let up in the push to bring down the Jovenel Moise government. As announced late last night, today, the country is once again shut down. Also, Port-au-Prince International Airport has been reportedly to be shut down. Haiti woke up this morning with the same fury we witnessed yesterday. One man died and a young woman got struck in her breast by stray bullets in Pont Rouge, near downtown Port-au-Prince, as demonstrators fought back against government assailants to the cry of “Aba Jovenel” (Down with Jovenel)

The people’s fear has been all but dissolved. They know they have history on their side. According to ITN (Independent Television News), one UN personal was insulted and beaten as demonstrators took their anger to anyone perceived to be an obstacle to their drive to flush Jovenel Moise out. This happened yesterday. Also yesterday, several key businesses in the upscale district of Petionville were destroyed, including La Maison Brunet, rum maker Barbancourt, and Little Europe.
