Late Thursday, American gymnast Simone Biles landed at the Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport in Houston. She was immediately greeted by her parents, other relatives and an army of journalists wanting to speak to her. Also at attendance were her French bulldog Rambo and a throng of adoring fans. Hungry for food, the 24-year-old gymnast did not hide it. “I just want a good steak.” Her teammate Jordan Chiles was also with her, arriving in the flight from Japan.
Simone Biles was the target of rightwing activists who accused her of being too weak because she had withdrawn from several competitions during the Tokyo Olympics. Simone complained of her mental state of which she said was not compatible with the focus required to win. The rightwing media was merciless, as usual.
