According to ABC News, Robin Roberts is expected to appear on Good Morning America to make an announcement Monday. It’s not clear how the appearance will be done. But sources said it could happen via either a phone call, pre-taped video or live satellite feed.
In a Facebook post early Wednesday morning, the popular ABC anchor said her doctors were pleased with her recovery and she was “humbled” by all the attention that has been lavished on when she will return to “GMA.”
There have been reports speculating that Roberts’ recovery was going slower than hoped, but ABC News officials and Roberts have set no public timetable for her return. “I am getting stronger every day. I’m humbled by the speculation of my return to GMA. My family and I are grateful that GMA/ABC’s only concern is my full recovery. It’s a great comfort not to feel pressured and a BLESSING to know I have a job waiting for me. Unfortunately, not everyone in my situation can say that.”
Roberts, 52, is recovering from a bone-marrow transplant that she needed to treat a rare blood disorder. She has been out of work since Aug. 30.
