In a series titled Trending in Health, The Cooking Magazine explains how it takes more than just eating right to offshoot longevity. Your diet isn’t the only factor. Something else is needed. No one knows for sure why in some regions of the world, people tend to live longer than others. But in some isolated villages in Italy where many villagers live well into their 90s, researchers seem to have discovered the secret. They all have certain psychological traits in common—stubbornness, resilience, and adaptability to change. This was confirmed in a new study. The study has also shown that the villagers have a strong work ethic, close family bonds, religion, and positive outlook despite worse physical health than family aged 51 to 75.
