French/Cape Verdean, Jennifer Dias latest single Je t’emmène holds the third spot on the top Zouk/Konpa iTunes downloads chart for the fifth week in a row. Jennifer, like most Cape Verdean singers, mixes the Creole language of Cape Verde and French in singles such as Deximen des paz and viens danser. This new genre seems to play well with Zouk as well as Konpa fans.

Born in France in 1985, Jennifer Dias mixes musical influences of her African roots and the soul and funky rhythms records of her father. Dias quickly developed a taste for music in all its forms. At the age of eight, she began taking dance classes, and then six years later, she took her first singing lessons. In 2003, she joined a Parisian music company as a dancer and jazz singer. During her years with the music company, Dias toured in Europe and Asia and performed on stages in London and Tokyo.

According to her Facebook fan page, Jennifer Dias is now currently working on her second album called Acoustic which is projected to be more of an intimate album. Her songs will be overlapped by an acoustic guitar. The songs will be written exclusively by her and not by other songwriters, like in her first album. Here is a sneak preview of one of her songs titled Viens danser.
