Chadwick Boseman, our superhero, dies at 43

Chadwick Boseman, the Hollywood actor, who found notoriety as the main protagonist in the innovatory film Black Panther, has suddenly died. According to news reports, the renowned actor died late last night from colon cancer. Boseman was only forty-three years old. The news of his untimely death sent shockwaves to many fans, including performers and social justice activists such as Martin Luther King III who is a human rights activist and the son of Martin Luther King Junior.  ML King III issued a heartfelt statement on his twitter page stating “Boseman brought history to life on the silver screen.” King was speaking on Boseman’s depictions of historical African-American figures such as Jackie Robinson and Thurgood Marshall.

Boseman has also played lead roles in other groundbreaking movies such as 42, 21 Bridges and Get on Up. The role that truly catapulted Boseman’s acting career was his role as T’Challa in Black Panther for which he received an academy award. In Black Panther, the actor played a fictional African superhero protecting his village of Wakanda. The movie was a benchmark in the film industry because it was an action film with an African superhero as the main character. Chadwick Boeman will forever be missed.
