Picture of the opening ceremony of the 1956 Paris congress

CSMS Magazine Staff Writers

Due to some technical difficulties, we were unable to print the previous document with the opening picture. Here they are from left to right:  Jacques Rabemananjara, Richard Wright, Alioune Diop (standing), Dr. Jean Price-Mars, Paul Hazoume, Aime Cesaire, Emile Saint-Lot, Jacques Alexis, Paris. (1956, Roger-Viollet Collection)            Also, Jacques Stephen Alexis’s voice was recorded, and Florence Alexis, JSA’s daughter who lives in Paris, told CSMS Magazine 2 years ago that perhaps that is the only known recorded voice of this great Haitian thinker.            We still hold several of individual pictures in our gallery that we hope to publish some day. Also see Novel Injustices: Whither The Contemporary Novel?
